CKPR in Thunder Bay Upgrades to NewsRoom 6
CKPR in Thunder Bay has completed its upgrade to NewsRoom 6, bringing a modern, streamlined newsroom system to one of Northwestern Ontario’s longest‑serving broadcasters. As a long‑time KLZ client, CKPR’s move to NewsRoom 6 delivers faster workflows, improved stability, and a clean, updated interface built for today’s broadcast demands.
This upgrade also benefits CFNO, the television side of the operation, which uses NewsRoom 6 as part of its daily production workflow. They use the “Save cast as html” function for closed captioning, which shaves valuable time off the operation. With both CKPR and CFNO aligned on the same modern platform, the team gains a consistent, reliable newsroom environment across radio and TV.
The move enhances scripting, rundowns, and overall performance while maintaining the familiar workflow their staff relies on. With improved compatibility on current Windows systems and KLZ’s ongoing support, CKPR and CFNO are well‑positioned to continue delivering trusted local news to Thunder Bay and the surrounding region.
KLZ Innovations is proud to support CKPR and CFNO as they move forward with the reliability and efficiency of NewsRoom 6.
